Make Your Fears Your Fuel

October 3, 2016

Yesterday we ended Joi’s Fall Break by spending a few hours at Stone Mountain. One of the attractions there is called “SkyHike” where you’re in a harness attached to a single rope and suspended at least 12 feet above the ground. Though you’re strapped in securely, it’s an overwhelming challenge for anybody scared of heights like Joi, because each trek is different so it’s hard to prepare yourself for what’s next. It was evident that she was scared and fearful, she didn’t leave when the opportunity presented itself. Instead, she finished the course. When I asked her why she didn’t just get off, she replied “I wanted to finish what I started”. Simply put, sometimes you have to use the things that scare you the most as a catalyst to conquer them. It’s been an amazing weekend, so I’m confident it’ll be a #WowGodDay. Don’t be scared of what’s before you, instead have a MAKE-YOUR-FEAR-YOUR-FUEL MONDAY!!! Proud of you Joi!
