Thimble Ourselves

May 1, 2014

Growing up, my late grandmother had many gifts and talents. Everybody knew that she could bake just about any kind of cake there was, but she was equally as good at sewing (she retired as a tailor for Sears & Roebuck). Obviously that’s one thing that I didn’t pick up from her, but I was always fascinated with her sewing machine and other supplies. One of the most critical supplies aside from the needle was the thimble. It was critical because the thimble protected her fingers from being stuck by the needle while she was sewing. Today, many of us are hurting and in pain because we didn’t take the proper precaution to protect ourselves before taking on a new job, entering into a relationship, establishing a business partnership or becoming leadership in a ministry. We need to cover ourselves in prayer before accepting new challenges, just like my grandmother covered her fingers before starting a new project. Today will be another #WowGodDay because it’s starting off wonderful. Let’s not forget to protect what is precious before moving forward and have a THIMBLE-OURSELVES THURSDAY!!!
