Maverick 9/16/13

September 17, 2013

One of my mentors used to use the term maverick to describe me. As I have always understood it, a maverick is an unbranded calf (still applies to a degree)…but a maverick is also a “lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates. A nonconformist, individualist; free thinker; loner, lone wolf.” Unfortunately, this person is also labeled as anti-social, rebellious and stubborn. This won’t apply to all, but those that it applies to understands. And it may apply to some in certain situations. There are those that would have us to think that there is something inherently wrong with us because we have yet to bend to their way of thinking, or haven’t conformed to the box they put us in. They stir up conflict when we disagree and attempt to make us feel guilty for being who we are. This is nothing more than a reminder to those that experience this. Be encouraged knowing that you were created not to fit the mold, but to break it. In due time and in season it will be revealed. Yes, it can be lonely sometimes, but it’s even lonelier at the top. *smile* I’m excited and looking forward to another #WowGod day. Join me and have a MAVERICK MONDAY!!! (Not a manic Monday…lol)
