Words from the Wise

August 28, 2013

As sketchy and painful as some of my past has been, I’m a huge proponent in moving on from it. I do believe that if there were lessons that we learned from our pasts, that we don’t forget about them, but rather use them to help someone else. Just because you’re married now, don’t look down on that single mother that’s struggling with parenthood, mentor her. Just because you have a college degree now, don’t turn your nose up at the young man struggling to get his GED, guide him. Just because you have a booming business now, don’t look down on the young man or young woman whose business is failing, teach them. Lessons learned from our pasts don’t weaken us, they give us wisdom. Because more often than not, what we’ve gone through wasn’t about us anyway. I have an exciting and full day ahead, so I know it will be another #WowGod day. Remember to let’s use our pasts to help someone and have a WORD-FROM-THE-WISE WEDNESDAY!!!
